The position will focus on providing the technical lead for product development projects involving liquid and powdered nutritional products from concept through commercialization. As an example, innovation efforts will involve the sourcing and evaluation of new ingredients, optimization of the physical stability of liquid products and the oxidative stability of powders. Responsibilities include the manufacture and release of products for clinical investigation, if required. The individual will lead a technical team responsible for achieving project goals with optimum quality and margin as critical considerations. As such, the individual should be recognized as a team builder with skills to influence/lead others cross-functionally and communicate at high levels of the organization.
The position requires thorough knowledge of formulation, processing and packaging aspects pertaining to liquid and powdered nutritional products, as well as their nutritional, physical, and oxidative stability. Beyond scientific skills, excellent mathematical, writing and verbal communication skills are required.
Experience with Design of Experiments, planning development strategies and interacting with suppliers is preferred.
MS/PhD Food Science/Nutrition/Engineering or related scientific field.
With 8+ years progressive and practical related experience sufficient to demonstrate equivalency
Conduct batch manufacture of small pilot studies.
